Heard this for the first time the other day. It’s the lead single from the Manics upcoming album Send Away The Tigers which is out in May. I haven’t really had a chance to get into the track yet, but it certainly has the makings of a decent Manics tune – strings, guitar solos, big chorus. It’s also nice to hear JDB duetting with a woman (Nina Persson of the Cardigans) for what I would reckon must be the first time since Little Baby Nothing. If you want the inside track on the ideas that went into the new album Nicky has written a huge piece on the band’s myspace which is definitely worth a read. Otherwise have a listen below and let me know if the moment when Nicky sings is a lovely touch or incredibly comic. I have a feeling it may be the latter.

If you feel brave enough you can now also watch a performance from the Charlotte Church Show with Miss Church taking Nina’s role. I have to say I don’t mind Charlotte Church as a presenter, but as a pop singer she’s really, really bad.
You missed out the wonderful duet the Manics did with Sophie Ellis Bextor on a B-Side to The Everlasting. Something about Black Holes.
That’s true. I think it’s called ‘Black Holes for the Young’, but I can’t be bothered to look it up and check. It’s actually quite a tune.
I think a duet could now be essentially for the Afterburner album.
